Edwards Lifesciences is committed to supporting educational conferences, symposia, trainings and programs in order to support knowledge based expansion on hemodynamic optimization strategies. Edwards Lifesciences will consider funding requests for programs that contain content and curricula that is relevant to improving postoperative outcomes in general and cardiac surgical patients, the detection and treatment of sepsis, and other related topics which impact the care of acute and critically ill patients, in alignment with Edwards Lifesciences’ stated training and educational objectives.

Educational Objectives

If your event or program is intended for the anesthesiology, critical care or emergency healthcare professional, or hospital administrative audience, then Edwards Lifesciences will consider providing grant funding support to educational topics that will:

• Enhance the understanding of the clinical and economic implications of newly-released data related to hemodynamic optimization in surgical and acute care patients
• Increase awareness of the incidence and impact of undetected hypotension
• Educate the healthcare professional on the interpretation of advanced hemodynamic parameters for fluid development in the critical care or surgical patient
• Educate the healthcare professional on strategies for, and potential clinical and economic benefits of, hemodynamic optimization of surgical and post-surgical patients, including Enhanced Surgical Recovery (ESR) and Perioperative Goal Directed Therapy (PGDT)
• Educate the healthcare professional on current standards and best practices for the detection and treatment of patients in the various stages of sepsis
• Educate the healthcare professional on strategies for assessment and early detection of the decompensating acute care patient in the setting of the emergency department, hospital ward, or ancillary service area
• Share strategies for quality improvement in the setting of the hospital system aimed at clinical outcomes improvement, cost reduction, and other system efficiencies
